Workshop on Training of Trainers in Wood Energy Aspects in Sri Lanka-RWEDP Report No.63, 2001
This report describes a workshop on training of trainers in wood energy aspects in Sri Lanka organized by the Sri Lanka Forestry Institute of the Forest Department, Sri Lanka with technical and financial support from the FAO Regional Wood Energy Development Programme in Asia. The workshop was held at the Sri Lanka Forestry Institute in Nuwara Eliya from 24 to 30 September 2001 with the main objective of contributing to human resources development for wood energy training and education in Sri Lanka. The training course included different aspects of wood energy development for raising awareness and enhancing knowledge of the trainers and faculty members in leading forestry and agroforestry training and educational institutes in Sri Lanka. Altogether there were 17 participants to this course including tutorial staff from Sri Lanka Forestry Institute, officers from the Forest Department, and staff from selected universities such as University of Sri Jayawardenapura, University of Peradeniya, Rajarata University of Sri Lanka, Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka and University of Ruhuna.
