Field Document No.32, December 1991
This sectoral analysis highlights the patterns of wood energy consumption, and supply-demand projection for Bhutan. It also emphasizes the need for conservation of resources which are considered adequate at present, but likely to decline in the further. Some general information about Bhutan and its biomass energy situation is given. The energy conversion technologies and the equipment for energy conversion used in the country are described in detail.
Because of inadequate data total biomass energy consumption is estimated. The environmental and institutional aspects of wood energy are briefly discussed and the problems of national energy planning addressed, particularly the problem of lack of coordination and cooperation between government departments and ministries. In the annexes provisional energy balance figures and detailed geographical and energy data at district level can be found.
