Total - Industries - Cooking

Data on consumption of wood and other biomass energy refer to final energy, i.e. after transformation and distribution. Below, overviews are given of total and industrial consumption per country, and the share of wood and biomass energy for cooking.

Total

For all countries, wood and biomass are important sources of energy, accounting for a considerable share in total energy consumption, as shown in the table.

Industries

Most wood energy is consumed by households, but industries are also major woodfuel users. In general, data on industrial woodfuel consumption are limited and may only include formal industries. Therefore, it can be assumed that the figures given below underestimate actual consumption.
