About RWEDPThe Regional Wood Energy Development Programme in Asia (RWEDP), during its existence from 1985 through 2001 aimed to assist 16 developing countries in South and Southeast Asia in establishing and strengthening their capabilities to
The programme promoted the integration of wood energy in the planning and implementation of national energy and forestry programs. It was implemented by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN and funded by the Government of the Netherlands. However, the Regional Wood Energy Development Programme or RWEDP has on 31 December 2002 finally closed its office, one year after the programme ceased to exist. We will do our utmost best to maintain the website but, as there is no formal programme stucture anymore, this will be on a "when time permits" basis. We will try to answer any questions you may hace with regard to wood and biomass energy issues. However, due to time as well as budget constraints we will no longer be able to provide services at the same level as you have become accustomed to.
